Today With Patty – June 6, 2007

by Patty

I ended up going to Biaggi’s for dinner last night with John, my mother and my aunt. It was very good, and we all wound up having different versions of a rigatoni dish that we split among ourselves. It was nice not to cook.

The Women’s Forum Gala committee meeting had plenty of both wine and whine. We received a very nice gift from Jennifer Terry of Paragon Commercial Bank, who was chairing the event – a beautifully ornate magnifying glass. And considering my age and how everything I have is falling apart (including my eyesight), it was a good choice.

This morning I went to the Women Against MS meeting (as I always say, as opposed to Men For MS), and the fundraising event is not until November, yet I already have 10,000 things I have to do for it. Go figure.

Tonight I have two events, one of which is the Wake Education Partnership, and then I am going to have to hurry myself home to cook. The old crones – my mother and my aunt – have announced that they would like to try grits. I love grits, so I am OK with that, as I love corn in all its forms.

Today there is a lot of hustle and bustle around the office because we are getting ready for the big gala at the Hamner Institute, and we are excited about all the activities that will be going on tomorrow. I will tell you more about that on Friday when the event is over. I have to say that Kipp is doing a magnificent job on this event, which is not surprising other than Kipp hates events with his whole heart and soul. Go figure again.
