Today With Patty – March 15, 2007

by Patty

Got my hair whacked yesterday, and my hairdresser at Haircolorxperts was extremely stressed about the whole thing, because I cut at least six inches off. She must have asked me 10 times if I really wanted to do this and if I was sure that this was the right decision. I explained that I was not Britney Spears and that I knew what I was doing. It is just hair – it will grow back. I am really happy with the result, but I have not given it the convertible top down test yet.

I think I have become a true “Raleighite.” (Is that what we are, or is it Raleighans, or Raleighers, or Raleighoids? Who knows the answer to this?) I had to go to a meeting this morning at 8 a.m. (on the other side of the world, of course), and I was mentally bellyaching and complaining about who has a meeting this early, and then I realized that three years ago, I thought it was unbelievable that people here did not have meetings before 9 a.m. In Phoenix I routinely went to meetings at 7:30 a.m. Now I think 9 a.m. is quite civilized, thank you very much.

I am still fighting my cold. I am convinced that you never really get over this thing but instead learn to live with it. I saw Sheila Ogle last night, and she personally thanked me for passing it along to her. Sorry. I realize how I probably unknowingly infected a number of people throughout the Triangle. So I am sure that “Patty Briguglio” will not be a term of affection – but rather infection.
