I had so much fun at the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle Awards last night, and I made a startling discovery – it is much more fun to go to these things when you are a winner. I was very excited about my new outfit, courtesy of my girlfriend Jennifer. Lots of clients came, and lots of clients won. The thing I did not know was that they have your staff stand up when you are getting your award and shine a spotlight on your table, and I had no staff because my people decided they did not want to go to a “stuffy” awards program but instead wanted me to take them out to dinner. Luckily, I had a table full of clients who pretended to be employees, and they were great. They all jumped up and down and had their arms waving up in the air, so of course I gave them all the day off.
The award is really cool too. If you tripped on it, it would impale you. It was just so much fun. I highly recommend winning the Pinnacle to everyone.
I have been hanging in the office today, getting caught up, and it has actually been reasonably calm around here. Of course half the office is out, so that helps. Ryal was with some clients this morning, and when he and Kipp are separated, for some reason, it is much quieter.
Speaking of Ryal, he has on his pink shirt today, and it is his turn to take me for a walk. The weather is much cooler now, so I anticipate I will not be whining and crying as much this time.
