Today With Patty – Nov. 14, 2006

by Patty

Today has not been a good day. Everything has been bad today. If people would just do what I want, life would be so much easier. Everyone who knows me knows I am going to get my way, so it is easier if they roll over and give it to me. Everything I try and do has been really hard right now, which is usually a sign that I need a nap I have been out every night this week and have fallen farther and farther behind. Have I mentioned that?

The WakeMed Society of 1961 Appreciation Gala last night was really fun and interesting. I enjoyed the evening, however, I would have enjoyed it much more if it was held on a Friday or Saturday night. Who has a gala on Monday night – that is a school night. So, of course I did not get home until midnight. The good news is, I found out at the last minute that it was not black tie, and that did help me somewhat with John. One poor guy showed up in a tuxedo because his wife did not know they changed the dress code from last year, and she was asking people for a ride home, because her husband was ticked and left to go home to change out of his tux.

I got to meet George Stephanopoulos at the gala, and I was pretty impressed with the guy. He took it well when I told him he was a Communist liberal bedwetting Democrat. Of course I am a frothing rabid Republican. We talked a little about Fox News and the Republicans losing control of Congress. I found him to be smart and funny and very engaging. The thing about George Stephanopoulos is, I look like a giant next to him. He is as cute as a button, but as big as Thumbelina. I was much taller than him.

Tonight I attend a wrap-up for the Big Bad Ball, so it is another night out. I will not be getting home in time to get anything done, and my e-mail is piling up. Feeling sorry for me?
