Today With Patty – Nov. 6, 2006

by Patty

I had a busy weekend. I went to Winston-Salem to see some friends of mine I have not seen in 25 years. We had so much fun – drank too much wine, laughed and told stories until the wee hours, which you know means I am having fun, since I like to be asleep by 10 o’clock if I can. Chuck Crance of Phoenix was very intrigued to hear about our blog and assured me he would be checking it out. So let me say for the record that Chuck is really, really handsome and looks really, really hot. You still have it, Chuck!

John and I made it back in time so that I could get my hair done, throw on some clothes and go to the Cary Art Ball hosted by Cary Visual Art. Half of Cary’s most prominent citizens were there, and I have no idea why they let us in. The room at the Prestonwood Country Club was absolutely gorgeous – the decorations and flowers were spectacular.

Today I am headed to Iatria Day Spa to try out their new TruVu Facial Analysis, which provides digital images of what your skin will resemble in the future using its present condition. It will show me what an old hag I will become, since I do not take good care of my skin. I am a soap and water girl. Then I am off for drinks at 115 Midtowne Restaurant with Cathy Ashby, editor of Carolina Parent magazine. She is loads of fun.

I also have to call my mother to wish her a happy birthday. In our family, my mother makes a point of noting which of her children is the last to call her on this day, and we have nine children in our family. Man, I hope I am not last, or I will be in the doghouse for the rest of the year.
