It has been a wild day today, just wild. I do not know why, but I have had all of my staff pulling at me, feeling like they are Velcroed to my legs. I cannot get anything done. Just a warning – I have not looked at my e-mail since yesterday, and since I have a Women Presidents’ Organization meeting tonight, I know I am going to have to drive back here and work. All I want is just for everyone to give me 15 minutes’ peace so I can catch up, but it is not going to happen.
I heard from the staff that The Music Man at the North Carolina Theatre was great. Most of the rest of the office went to see it last night and gave it rave reviews. Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston was sponsoring the performance and brought to the event a bunch of children the company assisted through building homes with Habitat for Humanity. I of course have been singing a lot of the tunes from the show to the office, because as a kid, it was my father’s favorite musical, and I grew up listening to the music over and over and over again. It is a Fagan family legend that every one of us knows the words to every single song of “The Music Man.” I will give you a full report after I see it on Friday night.
I was stuck at the office last night, and so I did not get home until the polls were closed to start watching the election results on TV. The good news is that the school bond passed, and I am thrilled. We need to continue our excellent educational system, and whilenobody wants to have to pay for schools,t this is not a situation of “Build it and they will come” – they are already here. The bad news was that my beloved Republicans took a beating.
Oh, and how about that split between Britney Spears and Kevin Federlin yesterday? We thought it was true love and that they were two kindred spirits who had come together, two halves to form one, and now it is history!
