Today With Patty – Sept. 8, 2006

Yesterday was great in New York. Michelle and I went out to see the town last night, and she got around fine, even wearing 3-inch heels! Her legs are as long as I am tall, and I could barely keep up with her. She did a great job up here, and the taping of the “Marsha Minutes” informational news segments with Marsha Firestone, founder and president of the Women Presidents’ Organization, was a success.

Our webinar for the WPO public relations today went well. We originally did a pretty plain Jane PowerPoint presentation, but when I saw what two other people did, I had PowerPoint envy. Michelle and I redid our presentation for two hours yesterday rather than shop – that’s how bad my envy was. At the webinar, I could’ve talked about five hours on PR, but I had only a limited amount of time to speak, so I had to rush toward the end to make my points.

The New York Athletic Club was unbelievably cool. It was really a neat room Michelle and I had there. The history of the building was great – the sculptures and architecture were fantastic. They do have strict dress codes, though. They don’t allow any blue jeans, and I had to sneak in last night while wearing them. Luckily, I didn’t get caught.

Now I’m on my way back home to the Triangle. I’m looking forward to attending the WPO dinner tonight and eating tapas with my girls. Yeah, I still haven’t jumped back on the “no carb” band wagon yet. Maybe next week … stay tuned.
