Today With Patty ...

by Patty

Last night I attended a small party at the home of Lieutenant Governor Bev Perdue , which she held to thank people who have helped her with her campaign. I ran into Billy Sewell, President and CEO of the Golden Corral, and I have to mention that although I’m a happily married woman, it was difficult to overlook the fact that Billy is one heck of a good-looking guy!

Anyway, it was really interesting being the only Republican in a roomful of Democrats. I was a little jumpy at first, but everyone was actually quite nice to me, so I finally calmed down. Maybe I’m getting used to being surrounded by Democrats, since there are plenty of them in my office (except for Gloria, Kate and Michelle)!

I went to physical therapy, which was ever so much fun after I re-injured my arm in a bone-crushing fall on Tuesday in the rainy parking lot at Winston’s Grille. I admit that I was a trifle whiny with the therapist, but my excuse is that MY ARM HURTS.

I have a million things going on, plus I’m in the middle of handling a crisis PR situation for one of my clients. I know you’d very much like to know all the details, but I’m sorry, I really can’t say a word. MMI is a firm known for its expert crisis management, and it’s frustrating that I can’t crow about some of my best work. Just know that I am on the job, protecting the righteous.
