This morning Nicole and I met with Frank Norton, financial and banking reporter for the News & Observer. I enjoyed talking with him and learning about the kinds of stories he is interested in telling. You can really tell he is passionate about his job. I would rather set my hair on fire than do what he does, but I guess that is what makes the world go round. We met with Frank at Mecca, my favorite restaurant in the Raleigh area, which I am slowly introducing to the office.
I then went to see Dr. Baylis, my voodoo doctor at Iatria Health Center. She popped my femur back in again. Let’s just say that I did not like it and now have to go back two times a week. To anyone who reads this blog, there will be significant wining and crying about it in the weeks to come.
Some good news is that we had a “Jack Attack” from our favorite new client, Jack Astor’s. We feasted on homemade chicken fingers (you know I love these), lobster and crab dip, a new southwest salad and chocolate cake with raspberries and a sweet drizzle. Our office is full of pigs, and I only got one tiny chicken finger by the time I got back.
I then went downtown again with Michelle – as you can see I am working on my gasoline conservation – to meet with another new client. We stopped at Cooper’s on the way back to the office to introduce the office to the best barbeque ever. It too was scarfed down, but those were the best hushpuppies I have ever had. Around the office, some are proclaiming this was the best food day ever.
Candy is back from her vacation today. She was only gone for one day, but it feels like a week to me. I don’t like it when anyone goes on vacation, especially Candy.
And by the way, we did the first podcast about why you podcast. Ms. Nicole, star of the office, was our interviewer. I have decided she will be the face and voice of MMI as we do podcasting and video streaming. She is a natural at it, and beautiful to boot, so I could do a lot worse with the company face.
