Today With Patty: Dreamgirls

by Patty

I have been running late all day today, everywhere I go I am 15 minutes behind. Being as anal retentive as I am, this is stressing me out horribly. It does not look like it is going to get much better as the day goes on and I have a board meeting for the International Affairs Council that ends at 6:00 p.m., afterwards I have to hustle myself home, get dressed and head out to the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts to see Dreamgirls.

The play got a great review and I am really looking forward to seeing it. We have a whole bunch of friends that signed up for season tickets and I have tickets for the entire office to go as well. Coldwell Banker Howard Perry & Walston is sponsoring tonight’s performance so The Backer’s Club should be rocking.

Totally Worth It

This morning I fell off my no carb bandwagon, but it was well worth it. Michelle and I went up to Twisted Fork to learn more about their bakery and Oh. My. God. the desserts were to die for. The Chocolate Sin Cake is sinfully rich and the Red Velvet Cake which I generally do not like, was divine. But oh baby, oh baby, oh, the Tia Maria Cake was the best dessert ever, it had chocolate chips, creamy icing and a hint of coffee. So if I had to cheat, this is certainly the way to do it. I rationalized it by saying I was taking one for the team.
