For those of you heathens out there, yesterday was Ash Wednesday which is the beginning of Lent for us Catholics. Traditionally you give something up for Lent. For instance Kate Davis is giving up sweets (and she already has a headache) and Kate Catlin has given up soda so she has been jacked up on coffee all day instead. I am giving up coleslaw and fighting with the Chinese. Please comment and tell me what you are giving up.
Dress For Success
My four-year-old niece started preschool yesterday. This kid is 40 lbs. of pure love and it has been very interesting for me having a four-year-old of my very own. She loves me unconditionally and thinks I am the coolest chick around, all of which is true. So she has a brand new ensemble, which she modeled for me about one million times, as well as a brand new hair ribbon because she discovered my stash of ribbon. She must have a ribbon that matches everyday as she is quite the glamour-puss.
Yesterday she talked me into letting her wear a strand of my good pearls to preschool, luckily they came home intact. This morning she wanted a different necklace to wear and I explained patiently that we have no other jewelry for her. Of course she called me out and took me into where I keep all of my jewelry and said that any of the 50 or so strands of pearls that I have would work. I have issues when it comes to pearls. She is at school today with an old necklace that I will not miss if I never see it again. We decided that we would go shopping on Saturday and get her some of her own jewelry. Dollar Store here we come.
The Office Is Acting Strange
Something must be wrong with Kate Davis because I actually had a whole half-hour to myself today. I am worried she might not be feeling well. We are in the process of moving the office and this place is in general chaos. But then this place is generally in chaos so there is no difference. Ryal has somehow scammed it that Matt is doing most of the heavy lifting and there is quite a lot of whining and crying going on. Ryal is supervising.
Ok, time is up. Kate Davis is cracking the whip. I have to go.
