I had an interesting experience yesterday that I found puzzling. I had lunch with two other women and our conversation ranged from presidential contenders, politics and illegal immigration to the state of education in Wake County and the local economy. It was lively and informational. Last night, while at a networking event with three men, their conversation included how to buy Italian-leather designer shoes and custom-made shirts as well as cleaning chandeliers. Now mind you these are all happily married men.

I was so struck by the differences in the conversation, especially since I am married to a guy who, even though he owns two tuxes, has not bought his own clothes in 30 years. When I overhear his conversations, they are never about clothes but are usually about how to make gasoline or the proper temperature for pouring asphalt. I guess there truly are metrosexuals in the world.

What is with this weather?

Never mind that I am driving with the top down and I can not remember the last time it rained but eee gads, I have got bulbs coming up in my yard! Mother Nature must be PMS-ing. This is coupled with the fact that there is no Christmas spirit, no tree, no ornaments, no nothing for poor me. I’m quite vexed that I do not have a tree but I am suffering in silence.
