Today With Patty: No Time for Down Time

by Patty

I am still fighting the flu and I am afraid the flu is winning – enough of that though because I have no time to have the flu.

There is just too much going on and I am over committed and stressed out. I have all these appointments that I was supposed to be on this week and I have blown everyone off. I have literally been in bed at 8 p.m. every night. Michelle has officially succumbed and is out today. I would be too if my boss would let me. The only one left still standing is Kate Davis. We’re convinced that she is the carrier who has infected us all.

I have two twelve foot stacks on my desk that I have to somehow get through and get caught up on this weekend. I also have to get all of my ducks in order (or is that in a row? Must be the Nyquil talking) to get a mortgage and sign my life away for this lake house in Apache Coves in Grove, Oklahoma. Now you understand why I am working like a fiend, it’s because I am going to have to figure out how to pay for this thing.

We have dinner reservations at 1705 Prime on Saturday night with some friends and I have a hair appointment on Saturday at haircolorxperts. Are you shocked to learn that I am not a real blonde? Sunday we have the Carolina Hurricanes game and I completely forgot that my cousin and her family are coming from Winston Salem to go with us so there is no way that I can ditch them. At least there will be food and wine in the suite because God knows, I never watch the hockey.

It doesn’t look like there will be any time for downtime and getting well this weekend. I am headed out of town at the crack of dawn on Monday with Ryal. What Ryal doesn’t know is that he will be driving and I will be curled up in the passenger seat gently snoring. He is young; he’ll bounce back.
