I’m headed to the North Ridge Country Club for lunch with a client, and I must say that this will be my third meal there in 36 hours. Don’t get me wrong, I love North Ridge Country Club, and it will be nice to just have a regular lunch instead of the exact same meal that 400 other people are having.
Where’s Patty?
It has been such a wild week that I am unbelievably behind on my e-mail. I tend to get caught up on e-mail in the early morning or late at night, but that hasn’t been the case this week. So, if you have been looking for me on the back of a milk carton that is why I haven’t responded. I promise to get caught up this weekend.
Oh, My Aching Feet
I went to the Triangle Business Journal’s Fast 50 Awards last night where several MMI clients won. Wahoo!
But, it went really late, and it’s hard for me to be out on a school night that late. So, I have to admit that I ditched the event after all my clients had been announced. Besides I was wearing these shoes that Jennifer Terry talked me into buying, and they hurt my feet all day. … And you know I don’t suffer pain well.
An Assistant At Last!
I am happy to report that I have made an offer to a young woman to become my personal assistant. She really doesn’t want to be a personal assistant, but she does want to break into PR. Since absolutely no one wants to be a personal assistant, I bribed her. I figure if she can stay with me for a year and serve her time, then I move her into account work. And then find some other desperate soul who is willing to put up with me.
I don’t understand it — I’m a creampuff. For some reason when I interview these people they find me funny and charming — maybe slightly eccentric —during the initial meeting, and then they hate my guts after working for me for two weeks. I am going to try to be on my best behavior with this one.
