About six months ago, my office took away my paper calendar and made me use an electronic calendar, with a promise that my life was going to be vastly improved and amazingly organized. Well, they lied.
I hate my Outlook calendar with my whole heart and soul. Not only is it difficult to book appointments and efficiently see where you are going (like you could with a simple weekly paper calendar), but the worst part is my office has access to the thing. Have you been wondering why I have not blogged lately? It is because they (my office) book me from sun-up to sun-down and there is no time to do anything else but go to appointments. I do not have one minute open next week. This is just wrong on so many levels. I want my paper calendar back but I have been informed that this is never going to happen.
The Networking Bar Secret
Last night I went to the Triangle Commercial Real Estate throw-down at the RBC Center with 2,000 of my closest friends. I am not kidding, everybody and their little yellow dog was there. I went with Sepi and we decided the heck with networking! We just stood in one place and all 2,000 people passed by us at some point so we could talk to them. Isn’t that easier? We parked ourselves conveniently near the bar as I knew we would have the best opportunity to see everybody.
New Developments
So guess who I ran into? Former boy banker Jonathon Taylor – who is now a successful developer. Jonathon has definitely strayed from his former image in the banking industry. He (gasp!) did not have on a tie or a suit but he did have on a sports jacket. But the most surprising part was that he has grown his hair out and he now has these beautiful locks. It is really surprising to see the change.
I wish I could write more but unfortunately I’m scheduled for meetings up until 6:30 tonight.Permalink |
