I just tried the new KFC mashed potato bowls, which I planned to have with Kipp, only he decided to go get lunch somewhere else today before checking with me. We both love KFC and promised that we would try the new menu addition together. What a disappointment (the bowls, I mean, not Kipp being absent to eat them with me, although that was a letdown for me too). The ratio of mashed potatoes to chicken is out of line, it doesn’t need cheese, and it’s a little light on the gravy too. As you can tell, I’m still not following my “no carb” diet credo. Tomorrow I will get on the band wagon.
“The Enemy Within: Terror in America from 1776 to the Present” arrived Aug. 26 at the Exploris Museum, and we’re getting lots of press on it. I’m excited to see what media coverage will be on Sept. 11. It is really interesting and thought provoking. It runs through Nov. 26 – so don’t miss it.
Good news: I got my hair done at Haircolorxperts. Bad news: My car still is not fixed. My piece of junk Chrysler Sebring has now been upgraded to a piece of crap. I am lobbying for a new car.
There’s Something About Mari … Mari sent an e-mail today. You will remember she is my old bag friend from Connecticut whose mom pays me to hang out with her? It’s been back to school time for her for 10 whole days now, and kids (or as we affectionately refer to them, PIA – pain in the arses) already are driving her crazy. She had her vacation in Wisconsin, her family was well. Spent some time with her nursing school friends, said she liked them MUCH better than she likes me! (See what a sweetheart she is and why her mother has to pay people to be her friend.) Her mom’s birthday is the same day as mine, and she will be 80 this year. I’m not telling anybody how old I am this year. Mari added that she’s mailing me a surprise she knows I’ll love and that I may want to frame it. Hope that means it won’t be any KFC bowls. Perhaps I will share with you some of the “presents” Mari and have exchanged over the years in another blog
