Today With Patty: The Candidate, My Leg and Ryal

I went to the kickoff event last night for Lt. Gov. Beverly Purdue to formally announce her candidacy for governor. Great crowd, rousing speech – a good time was had by all. Of course, I am so far behind at work that I had to leave and come back to the office afterward.

Update on My Leg

I started out today in my role as a professional patient, checking in with the infectious disease people about the status of my recent sea lion bite. They told me that my leg is going to hurt like a mother for the next six months, and that I just need to suck it up and deal with it. Oh joy.

Addressing the Society With Ryal

I was at the Savvy Women’s Conference meeting for lunch, and now I am in the office getting ready for my presentation for N.C. State’s PRSSA Society, where I will inform them of all the dirty little details involved in PR. But I am bringing a secret weapon – that would be Ryal Curtis. I figured a good looking young man (albeit an engaged one, which I will fail to mention to them) will capture their attention in a way I never could. There I can keep my eye on him from eating my food too. I will give you the rundown tomorrow about whether we were a smash or a dud
