I had my usual busy weekend. I went to Sheila Ogle’s annual bash on Friday night and it was so much fun to see all of the industry people and I was very pleased that she included pinot grigio in her liquor refreshments this year. I wore a black velvet suit with a white ruffed silk blouse that I thought looked great however, my husband kept referring to me as Austin Powers throughout the evening. Sometimes I just have to smack that boy.
Saturday night we had dinner at the Umstead with Virginia and Monty Parker. It was a fabulous meal and way too much wine. I definitely overate but the food was fabulous.
Sunday found me with Sheila Ogle, Jennifer Terry and Jennifer’s mother, Mary Grace, at the North Carolina Ballet production of The Nutcracker. The production is amazing! The costumes were unbelievable and the sets were beautiful. All in all you will not want to miss The Nutcracker this year. I found it interesting to learn that Raleigh has one of the top ten ballets in the country. Who would have thought? Of course when you see the Nutcracker you will understand why they are so deserving of this distinction.
I got to wear my fur coat which made me ever so happy. After the ballet Sheila and I went to Sheila and Jim Ahler’s house for their Christmas bash. So as you can see all I did this weekend was eat and drink.
