What a day for food this has been here at MMI. With Patty out of the office on a boating trip down east, Kipp out on his honeymoon, and Michelle out on her weekend trip to the beach, the rest of us have been holding down the fort with plenty of goodies to eat, including leftover Chick-Fil-A nuggets, barbecue, and pasta salad from the ribbon cutting and grand opening of Greystone at Widewaters. But wait, there is more, like they used to say on the old Ronco commercials. Other people contributed food today as well, with Beth bringing in some Hershey’s miniature Easter eggs, Caroline some blueberry muffins from Bojangle’s, and Jill some cupcakes from Café Carolina and Bakery. Man, there was no one going away hungry from work today!
Ryal has been telling everyone at work that the hot new song to check out is “Makes Me Wonder” by Maroon 5. It is from the group’s upcoming CD “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long,” and we are sure if you have any questions about it, the song or Maroon 5, Ryal will be more than happy to answer them for you. (Wesley likes “Because of You” by Ne-Yo better, in case anyone cares.) By the way, Ryal’s softball team just finished its last practice yesterday – anybody want to place a bet on where they will finish in their league this year?
Patty, Kipp and Michelle all will be back here Monday, and we hope they have a happy and safe weekend. For those of us who will be sticking around here, we plan to bundle up tight, because the weather forecast calls for temperatures to be down in the twenties by Sunday morning, and we have been having 80-degree weather here all week long! Who was it that said spring was here officially anyway?!
