Today Without Patty – Feb. 12, 2007

by Patty

While Patty is on her way back home today from her weekend visit to Denver, we are taking care of the office in her absence. She did call to report that she learned how to do sudoku and now is obsessed with it. Consider yourself warned.

Meanwhile, around here the seasonal sickness remains in full swing. Jill went home today because she was not well, and for that matter, neither is Allison, our newest employee. (Yes, we now have two Allisons here at work, and it is driving Patty nuts, thinking about ways to call them apart from each other.) Nevertheless, Allison remains resolved to stay here today and learn the basics about MMI, but we promise if she does not get better soon that we will let her go home to bed. Jill hopefully will get well soon too, since it is her birthday Friday, and we want her to have a happy day celebrating it.

In other news, Michelle is finally coming down from her excitement of being on a cruise two weekends ago. (Guess cold weather can do that to you.) Fellow former Canadians Beth and Jason have been comparing notes on what they have been having to do to get used to living in the Triangle. Two of us appear on new entries on the Internet this week as well. Kate is the Kate mentioned in Sue Stock’s blog for the News & Observer under the “Stacking Up Savings” entry, while Wesley finally has the cover for his new book Kicking Off the Week available on the McFarland Publications Web site.

Other than that, we are doing our usual first day of the week activities here and waiting for Patty to return by late afternoon. For those of you not in the area who read this blog, the weather reports about a winter storm hitting the East Coast tomorrow apparently will not be applying to us – the storm is tracked to go north of here, leaving us once again with just cold rain near the freezing point. Oh joy.
