Today Without Patty – Feb. 14, 2007

Patty has been out of the office today, going to meetings and doing other business to make up for her “nappy poo” she took yesterday afternoon when she was feeling sick. While she has been gone, some of us in the office have been celebrating Valentine’s Day, while others of us (the bitter, single ones, that is) have not. For those of us who ended up with nothing, we are planning to go to Jack Astor’s Bar and Grill in Cary to enjoy the Anti-Valentine’s Party there tonight. They will be offering $2 draft pints and $7 pitchers of beer. You cannot beat that, and we are not just saying that because they are one of our clients either.

Kipp has been out of the office on business most of the day, but the “new Allison” has recuperated from the flu and joined us back at work today. Meanwhile, our project coordinator Margaret has tomorrow off, while our new writer Jason will be out Friday to receive furniture for his house. And our traffic coordinator Jill will be out for a few weeks soon as she recuperates from a planned operation. It is beginning to take a scorecard to keep up with the comings and goings of everyone around here, we tell you.

Otherwise, it has been a rather quiet day, albeit pretty windy outside. But the sun is out and the daytime temperatures are above freezing, and considering the winter storm they have been facing in the Midwest and Northeast, we will gladly take what we have been having today.
