Today Without Patty – Feb. 2, 2007

by Patty

It is another busy Friday for Patty, so she has asked the staff to write this entry in her place. Oh, if only there was something of interest going on today. Well, the weather is blah but not too nasty or cold, so that is out. Hardly anyone has visited us in person, so there is nothing to discuss there. What else? Oh, yeah – today is Wesley’s birthday!

Wesley claims to be 42 today but will not show us his driver’s license, so we will just have to take his word for it. Anyway, we celebrated the big event by giving him a delicious chocolate pound cake without any candles on top (since he is too old to blow even one out), decorating his desk with special birthday banners and tying balloons to his chair.

We also made him wear a birthday sash and tiara in honor of him becoming the birthday king here at MMI. As you can see, he wore the regal materials with pride.

Apart from the birthday, there are a few other things we should mention. Today was the first day of work here for our new writer, Jason. He was going to start yesterday, but with the wintry weather, we told him to stay home and be safe. And Michelle is on vacation on a cruise, probably visiting Key West right now. If she is reading this (yeah, right!), we want to let her know that we love her and miss her and wish for her safe return in the office Tuesday.

By the way, the next birthday coming up here is for Jill on Feb. 16. Hope she is ready for the same sort of treatment we gave Wesley!
