Today Without Patty: Conserving Water

by Patty

While Patty has been in and out of the office all day running from meeting to meeting, the rest of us have been racking our brains figuring out ways to conserve water around the office and at home. Patty is a member of the Water Conservation Council and wanted to make sure the office was on board. Here’s what we’ve come up with:

Kate Davis is going to use the leftover water that she does not drink during the day to water the plants.

Kate Catlin is going to use the same cup all week to conserve the amount of dishes we need to wash. She’s also staying ‘green’ and sticking to biodegradable paper plates instead of plastic ones for lunch.

Jen has vowed to eat her lunch out of the container she brings it in each day, rather than dirty up another dish to save on water used to clean them.

Jill is going to start turning off the faucet when she is washing her hands so she does not waste valuable gallons of water. On the same note, Matt has decided to turn the faucet off when he is brushing his teeth.

Michelle, our ‘green’ tip queen, has become our resident soap dispenser. She always has hand sanitizer ready so we do not have to wash our hands all the time.

Finally, Ryal has become MMI’s own Bob Villa, running around with his tool belt and checking all of our faucets to make sure they are not leaking.

All of us here at MMI are trying to be conscious of the water shortage. What are you doing to conserve?
