Today Without Patty: Patty’s Back, And So Is the Rain

by Patty

We thought Patty might be a little too tired from her return yesterday from the““Galapagos Islands”:http://www.galapagos.com/ to do a blog today. Our hunch turned out to be true, so because of that, you will have to wait until Monday when she will provide you with an update of all of what happened to her while she was there the last two weeks, and trust us, there was plenty that did.

In the meantime, here are a few highlights about what else has been happening around here today.

The Rains Came – Briefly

Who would have thought that something as simple as seeing rain fall down on the parking lot would excite us jaded souls at MMI? But that was the case this afternoon when, after what seemed like an eternity, we finally received some precipitation from the remnants of Hurricane Humberto. Too bad it only lasted a short time, and then the sun came back out again. But the forecasters have said more rain is on the way this evening, so we hope they are correct, because the parched soil and plants around here certainly could use it.

Kristi and Speaking Of Women’s Health

As we mentioned yesterday, Kristi will be handling publicity for Speaking of Women’s Health Conference at the North Raleigh Hilton tonight after work at 6 p.m. and then tomorrow pretty much all day. This is her first time coordinating media requests for this event, and she is excited by the turnout (the facility is sold out, with more than 600 attendees expected on Saturday alone), and the diversity of what activities will be offered to encourage women of all ages to improve their health, such as belly dancing courses. Like we said yesterday, a good amount of the MMI staff plans to be at this distinctive affair.

That will do it for us for now. However, we guarantee you that Patty will be back at this spot on Monday to tell us all about her (mis)adventures in Galapagos. Hope you can wait through the weekend for it – until then, have a happy and safe time.
