As far as we know, Patty has made it safely to the Galapagos Islands, where she and John are enjoying the sights and sounds. They will be gone through next week, but do not worry, she has left those of us with plenty of work to do in the meantime. However, we did squeeze in some fun during our time off for the Labor Day holiday yesterday. Here are the highlights (and in some cases, the lowlights).
Jill Went to a Wedding
Even though it was a little hot outside, Jill said she enjoyed participating in an amazing four-day event with friends that included one of them getting married as well as that bride celebrating her 21st birthday Sunday. Man, if her husband manages to forget that date, he will really be in the doghouse for missing two big events. For the record, the ceremony was held at the luxurious the Hall and Gardens at Landmark in Garner.
Michelle and Matt – Beach Bound
Two on our staff managed to make it to the beach, the lucky bums. Michelle took off early Friday and went to Ocean Isle. She said it was beautiful there this weekend, but kind of crowded.
Meanwhile, Matt also went Friday to the coast, this time to Carolina Beach, where he said it was nice – windy but not humid. In fact, it was so nice that he laid on his left side and fell asleep, resulting in a sunburn on half of his face. Ouch! Matt also went to see Superbad a second time, justifying his attendance at the movie by saying his girlfriend had not seen it, and she should not have to go alone to a movie, so he just had to do it, right?
And Then There is Ryal
Ryal also went to see Superbad as well, and he told Kipp and Wesley they needed to see it too so he could talk about it with them. You will note that Ryal did not say any of the women here needed to see it as well, which should tell you something about the film (and maybe about Ryal). Ryal said he had some fun over the weekend, but nothing he felt comfortable mentioning in a blog – figures. He plans to go rollerblading tonight regardless of the weather, so do not be surprised if we report tomorrow about Ryal coming into the office with sore feet and knees.
As For the Rest of Us …
Most of us really did not do anything we would consider exciting to list here (for example, poor Kate’s car died and she had to buy a new battery). We all made it back to work safe and sound though, although we did wish the holiday weekend could have lasted a day or two longer. So do some of our clients. But we have managed to get back into the swing of things, and we hope those of you who had Monday off have been able to do the same.
