What a Week!

by Elizabeth

It’s Friday! This week has gone by pretty fast, but the past few hours have dragged on – I am really looking forward to this weekend.

In case you don’t know me, I have two sisters – Mary Ellen, 18, and Katherine, 16. Mary Ellen went to college for the first time today, and has been excited for months. She is going to Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC and had all her stuff organized way before she had to go; I was scrambling at the last moment. She got a new computer, which, thankfully, was not a Dell – I could not imagine having to deal with that recall. I wish I could have been there to help her move in, but unfortunately I had to work. I will say, though, that I am pretty excited about not having to move all her belongings up to the third floor in the hotness. But Mary Ellen, if you are reading this, I would have done it because I love you so much and I can’t wait to come up in September! Maybe she will take me to a frat party – it has been a while for me!

I went to my first event for MMI this week – the Castleton web launch. It went very well and was nice to put faces with names and voices. I was thoroughly impressed with Ms. Suzanne Clifton – what a woman!

My dad is coming in town this weekend. It has been a long time since I’ve seen him, so I am super excited! I am participating in a team triathlon in September with him and his fiancée, Tracey. I am swimming (1.2 miles!!!), he is biking, and she is running. I am looking forward to it, but I really hope I don’t drown in the lake. I grew up swimming, so it shouldn’t be too difficult for me, but what do I know? This weekend I will get a taste, as I get to practice on Sunday in Jordan Lake, so pray for me!

Gloria helped me with my writing today – there is so much I have to learn! She is a great teacher, though, and is awesome at what she does.

I can’t blog without mentioning my grandma Ginny. She is still in Florida, doing great. Zar is enjoying himself and his 30 minute massages every morning – I wish I was him! I still think about her every day, even though she doesn’t believe me. I really do love her a lot!
