PITTSBORO, N.C. – The Town of Pittsboro has announced that William “Bill” Terry of Chapel Hill has been selected as the new Town Manager. The Pittsboro Board of Commissioners conducted a national search to fill this position and selected Terry from a field of nearly 40 candidates. He was officially recognized as Town Manager at the Aug. 27 Town Board meeting.
Terry currently serves the Town of Chapel Hill as Sustainability and Facilities Management Superintendent in the Department of Public Works and has worked with the Triangle Clean Cities Coalition since its inception. He served the U.S. Marine Corp in various capacities as a combat engineer officer and logistics officer for 20 years prior to his retirement. Terry obtained a degree in government and international relations from Carleton College in 1970 and earned a master of public administration degree from N.C. State University in 1998.
“Bill brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Pittsboro and has established professional relationships at the state and local level which will be of great benefit to our community,” said Pittsboro Mayor Randolph Voller. “Bill has a well-established reputation as a person of intellect and integrity, and we look forward to working with him on major initiatives for Pittsboro.”

William Terry is Town Manager of Pittsboro and serves the Town of Chapel Hill as Sustainability and Facilities Management Superintendent in the Department of Public Works.
