RALEIGH, N.C. – Pam Kohl, Women Against Multiple Sclerosis (WAMS) steering committee chair, an education and fundraising program, has announced that the organization’s 2007 Women Against MS Leadership Luncheon will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1 at North Ridge Country Club. The luncheon, presented by York Simpson Underwood Realty, is a key fundraising and awareness event for the Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The chapter’s goal for this event is to raise $100,000 to fund research into the cause, treatments and cure for multiple sclerosis as well as local programming for people with MS and their families. Individual tickets are $75. For more ticket information, please visit http://www.nationalmssociety.org/nct.

“I am enthusiastic about this year’s event,” said Kohl. “Working with the community on this event has been a rewarding experience. Woman Against Multiple Sclerosis is a great organization that helps individuals not only develop research on the cause and treatment of MS, but also helps families cope with MS.”

About The National MS Society:
Women Against MS (WAMS) is a nationwide education and fundraising program founded in 1998 to support the mission of the National MS Society. The vision of WAMS is to bring together a strong body of women to fight a disease that primarily impacts women and to raise critical funds to support related research, education and programs. The WAMS event has a steering committee of women leaders committed to the MS cause, each making efforts to involve friends and business associates to join them for lunch and make a gift to the National MS Society. Today, some 40 National MS Society chapters are hosting WAMS luncheons across the country that draw between 200 – 700 attendees. The program has already raised over $2.5 million to support the work of the Society. To learn more, visit http://nct.nationalmssociety.org/site/PageServer?pagename=NCT_events_WAMSmain.
