Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO) Hosts New Member Reception

BOSTON – The Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), Boston Chapter is hosting a New Member Reception Friday, June 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rialto restaurant at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge. The reception will connect potential members with current WPO members so that they may experience the benefits of the organization firsthand. Avis has committed to help underwrite the growth of the Boston WPO chapter with a matching grant for each new member who signs up at the Rialto reception. As of 2004, there are an estimated 233,139 privately-held, 50% or more women-owned firms in Massachusetts, accounting for 41.3% of all privately-held firms in the state. Additionally, Massachusetts is ranked 14th among the number of women-owned, privately held firms in the United States.
